Increasing the levels of disaster preparedness among residents in developed metropolitan settings is becoming an issue of the utmost importance. The Sendai Framework encourages local and central governments to engage in efforts to “Enhance disaster preparedness for effective response, and to build back better in recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction”.
