This year we welcomed many new and returning Board members and appointees, each who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the organization. On January 15, we conducted a full day of Board and strategic planning meetings with the goal of focusing on the future success of BRMA. We evaluated the 2018 annual survey results to guide our efforts. We then validated BRMA’s mission, goals and objectives, and agreed to slightly modify our mission statement to better reflect BRMA today. It now reads:
BRMA’s mission is to educate, inform and inspire people working in disciplines related to business continuity, organizational resiliency, and risk.
Our focus then shifted to membership recruitment and retention. We’ll be unveiling new initiatives through the course of the year; I’ll keep you apprised of them as we go! Here are a couple of changes coming in the short term:
- We are adding BRMA TechTalks to our programming – If you use a tool or application in an innovative way, please let Renuka Darbha know (programdirector@brma.com).
- We are taking steps to more formally establish a BRMA South Bay region – Our first in-person meeting will be held soon.
As always, I encourage you to invite your peers, colleagues, and friends to join BRMA or attend one of our events. I also ask that you share our LinkedIn postings with your LinkedIn community. Let’s get out and spread the word about BRMA!!
