SUMMARY:BRMA Webinar | Anya Fleischer | Cultural Influences and Decision Making in a Crisis
DESCRIPTION:Cultural Influences and Decision Making in a Crisis\nLike values\, a culture’s social norms provide a foundation for understanding the underlying assumptions that guide people’s behaviors\, feelings\, and interpretations of events. Crises and unforeseen incidents serve as perfect case studies that showcase how decisions are made. They also provide opportunity to practice decision making. Resiliency professionals can help with guiding the team to find the appropriate decision owner\, mapping key stakeholders in the business and following a structured process to assist leaders in moving through the decision-making process. \nIn this session\, Anya Fleischer (Chime) will cover tangible ways to create pathways and empower teams to work together to define the decision\, identify influencers and help avoid knee-jerk reactions that may lead to poor outcomes. \nWebinar Registration\n\nA Signup email will be sent directly to BRMA members prior to the event. \nBRMA Members: Please login for additional registration information. \n\n\nGuests\nWish to attend\, and are not a member? SUMMARY:BRMA Webinar | Charlie Maclean-Bristol: Is Business Continuity a Victim of Covid?
DESCRIPTION:September 30\, 2021: Is Business Continuity a Victim of Covid?\nBefore COVID-19\, we dutifully completed BIAs\, developed our plans\, including preparing for pandemics. Some organizations who had developed pandemic plans\, found them to be useless and out of date…as the pandemic they planned for \,was not the pandemic they got. COVID-19 arrived and BIAs was chucked into the corner. Our senior managers wanted all processes to function normally and immediately\, and everything became a priority. RTOs (in some cases) were not adhered to\, and parts of the organization did not recover for weeks. \n\nOur plans were used to manage COVID\, but lots of organizations who didn’t have BCPs in place worked out what to do and developed their response very quickly.  With the increasing threat of cyber ransomware and a push by the government for operational resilience amongst financial institutions\, is business continuity losing\, or has it lost its relevance? Will the job of the business continuity practitioner be condemned to the bin of history along with switchboard operators\, milkmen and leech collectors? \n\nJoin us for a conversation with Charlie Maclean-Bristol and hear his thoughts on how to turn BCM into Operational Resilience and what you can do to continue to stay prepared through any impact that your organization may face. \nSpeaker Spotlight: Charlie Maclean-Bristol \nWebinar Registration\n\nA Signup email will be sent directly to BRMA members prior to the event. \nBRMA Members: Please login for additional registration information. \n\n\nGuests\nWish to attend\, and are not a member?
