Culture of Preparedness
Do you want to learn how to empower corporate leaders in your organization and help create enduring cultures of earthquake preparedness?
Join us for an informative session by Tipping Point Resilience! The goal of their work and the presentations Steve delivers is to convince the “average” person to prepare for disasters larger that he/she has experienced, and to contribute to a cultural shift that will encourage others to follow suit.
In this meeting we will cover four insightful chapters:
- A story: Presenter Steve Eberlein’s personal experience of the Boxing Day Tsunami in Sri Lanka
- Geography 101: The science and history of Bay Area earthquakes
- Seismic Lapses of Judgement: Human instincts, group behavior, and the danger of “amygdala hijack”
- Cultural Preparedness: What jaywalking and tribal culture tell us about resilience
