What would you say to someone thinking about joining BRMA?

It is group of Resilience Professionals committed to learning, sharing, and inspiring one another to take on challenges and achieve.

How did you get started in the industry?

I was so dissatisfied with my job after college I tried out to be a police officer, while working at a bank. Then I saw a posting for a Contingency Planning Analyst and the rest is history.

What qualifications and certifications do you hold?

MBCP, MBCI, ITILv3, TAPA.

Who has been your greatest mentor?

Wally Fisher, my first boss, who taught me that loyalty is a function of appreciation expressed and the importance of making performance management a priority, “it’s one of the only things we do for an employee.”. He modeled positive behavior for me every day. He is a beloved friend all these years later.

What is your proudest professional achievement?

Winning the DRII Lifetime Achievement Award.

What is the title of the last book you’ve read?

Silver Sparrow by Tayari Jones.

Why did you decide to stand as a BRMA board member?

I ended up on the Board because Fiona Raymond Cox is very persuasive. And as a founding member, it seemed like a good way to come full circle with BRMA.

What does your employer think of BRMA?

Anaplan values the contact I have with other technology companies and the ability to know how they are addressing some of the same resilience and risk challenges we have in their organizations.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. – Ferris Bueller

What would you like to share with BRMA members that they may not know about you or would be surprised by?

We have Arabian horses. Clyde is a gelding and is 23. Lacey is a mare and is 9. And Juell is gelding too and he is 7. My daughter rides but she got the family hooked. They have been a blessing during the pandemic providing much comfort in a difficult time.
